It’s not a terribly exciting record, but it’s a record nonetheless. Sammy Baugh set the record for longest punting average in a season in 1940. 51.40 yards per punt is the number. No one has come close besides Shane Lechler, who in 2007 had a season average of 49.11, which is incredible... (more)

As per Jason Cole from Yahoo! Sports, the Raiders are cooperating with law enforcement in the Tom Cable case(s). Cole says a source tells him Al Davis hopes to be able to fire Cable “with cause” at the end of the season so he doesn’t have to pay him.
